Appstention documents the reasons of people who have already chosen not to vote in France’s 2027 presidential election.

Why this site exists

An abstention figure does not give the people counted a voice. Surveys already study their reasons; our contribution is an open collection of voluntary submissions, published anonymously and readable by everyone. We do not claim to represent the millions absent from the ballot.

Three ways to participate

The pledge: one click, no email, to put your vote on the line (“No answer, no vote”). Declare: a reason and a confirmation email, with an optional testimony. The grievances: vote for or against what the state could stop doing, or propose a line. Each action has its own counter; none is added to another. A private message to the editor goes through the “Report a problem or an idea” button.

Who runs it

The site is built and funded personally by an independent citizen. No party supported, no candidate endorsed, no donations collected. Contact: [email protected]. Feedback helps correct pages and improve the project.

Anonymous publication, private data

Your declaration email is kept for validation, duplicate prevention and deletion requests. It is not published. Messages sent to the editor stay private. The infrastructure also uses technical visit logs. Details are in the privacy policy.

The same standard for our content

Candidate profiles separate sourced facts from editorial analysis. A campaign source establishes what a party says, not that its claims are true. Factual corrections can be reported. Public statistics and counting limitations are available to everyone.
